Nathan
Nathan grew up in Dongara, a small coastal town in Western Australia, and moved to Perth after high school to become a carpenter. He had never left the state until he met Tiff and boarded his first ever plane to fly to Melbourne together. After that, it was easy to expand his travel dreams overseas with a trip to New Zealand which really sparked his wanderlust. It took a trip to Japan and then England for Tiff to convince him that a working holiday should be their next big adventure together. It wasn’t until the pandemic hit that he realised just how much he wanted to travel and the nomadic life was what he wanted to do next. The closer it got the more excited he was, until his wanderlust almost surpassed Tiffs! When he’s not out adventuring you can usually find Nathan playing his guitar or a video game whilst drinking a great craft beer. Nathan’s always on the look out for incredible local eateries and of course, breweries. He loves animals and nothing will stop him from finding a cute puppy and giving it a loving pat.
Tiff
Born in a small country town in Western Australia, Tiff boarded her first flight at three months of age, to visit family in Perth, where she later grew up. She always had a great sense of wanderlust, which she quelled by traveling through books to places far and wide.
Although she still loves to read and is an avid Book Fairy, her wanderlust has only grown. Working full-time was just getting in the way of her travels so in 2021 she decided to flip the script! She quit her job as a permanent Radiographer and now travels full time with the odd few weeks of locum radiography thrown in. Tiff is also terribly afraid of flying, but she never lets that stop her. She does her best to work through her anxiety and is determined not to let it get in the way of her travels. When she isn’t out hiking, swimming, or making memories you can usually find her with her nose in a book, or doing something crafty.

Our Travel Style
Adventure is just around the corner when you take the road less written. We love taking our own path when traveling, finding hidden gems, and taking our time to learn about the culture and area we’re in. We do our very best to travel consciously and environmentally. One of our favourite mottos is ‘take nothing but photos and rubbish, leave nothing but footprints and kill nothing but time’. It’s part of our dream to inspire others to travel with the same care and respect for everything they encounter along the road.We are always seeking our next adventure and love living the nomadic lifestyle. We started this journey with a desire to live on our terms, to break away from full-time work, and embrace the unknown. We are big believers in freeing ourselves from societal expectations and learning through experiences. We couldn’t think of any better way to do that than traveling!With this blog, we want to share our travel experience, encourage you to explore in your own way, and hopefully inspire you to take your own road. It may not be as smooth but we think there is nothing better than the road less traveled.

How we Met
We met at an outdoor cinema event organized by Tiff’s uni social group, one of those members also happened to be Nathan’s roommate. We were seeing each other for only a few months before going on our first trip together to Coral Bay with a group of friends. Being a uni student and an apprentice carpenter it took us a while before we could save for our first solo trip to Melbourne. We made sure to go on lots of weekend adventures in the meantime and really developed our love of road trips.
After we both started working full time we had more money for traveling but found ourselves with much less time to do it. We were lucky that Tiff’s shift work gave her five weeks off a year, and Nathan’s work was very flexible with leave, but after a few years, even that didn’t feel like enough time. So we quit our jobs and broke our lease to become full-time travelers and live out our dreams. Together we are traveling along The Road Less Written.
