We spent a lot of time down in Busselton over the summer helping out family and working a little. This left us with the odd afternoon free to go exploring and we made sure to check out all the best Busselton afternoon drinks spots for a cheeky cocktail or beer after work.
The summer vibes are amazing in Western Australia and nothing beats having a delicious alcoholic beverage whilst soaking in some afternoon sun and the fresh sea air of Busselton.
These are our top five destinations for a chill drink and snack before coming back home to cook our own dinner, which let’s face it, most of the time is a cheese board. Why not, it’s summer right?!
Be sure to check out our Instagram to see our favourite places for afternoon drinks!
Hally’s Bar
A cute roof top bar to grab a drink or even stay for dinner. They have delicious alcoholic slushies on offer, which are perhaps a little too easy to drink.
They do come with straws, however, these are plant based, which is better for the environment. We still think the straw is slightly unnecessary so you can ask for your drink without one.
The food here is really good too. We have come on several occasions and never been disappointed. Check out their daily specials or the Wednesday night tapas BBQ menu!
The Fire Station
Aptly named The Fire Station did indeed used to be a working fire station for the town. Now they serve up fiery drinks and delicious small plates and pizza.
We LOVE the bao buns here and visit regularly. A super chilled place to grab a drink and a meal. We just waltz on in and always manage to find a table. There is a beer garden and seating inside, so take your pick and enjoy!
Rocky Ridge Brewing Co.
If you’ve followed us for a while, you know that Rocky Ridge is our all-time favourite craft beer!
Their taps are always changing, so it’s like a little surprise every time we come down. We think they have a beer for everyone but if you really aren’t a beer drinking, they also serve wine.
The vibes here are super chill which we absolutely love. It’s a great place for a drink and some chips and even better for a casual dinner with delicious burgers on offer.
Shelter Brewing Co.
Prime location being on the waterfront near Busselton jetty. Go for a wander along the jetty, then stop in for a drink and some nibbles.
Shelter always seems to be busy and is rather big. We don’t love it but it is super popular with everyone else. We think it’s good for a casual drink and nibbles, but a bit overpriced if you are thinking of going for dinner.
BYO at the Beach! Great spot for a Mocktail
There is nothing better than taking a little picnic down to the calm waters of Busselton beach and watching the light change as the sun sets (note you can’t see the sunset over the water here).
You can’t legally drink alcohol on the beach, so pack a mock-tail or sparkling apple drink to enjoy whilst you sink your toes into the sand and relax.
We have been known to take our dinner down here too and particularly love eating KFC on the beach. You just feel less guilty eating unhealthy food outside.
These Busselton Afternoon Drinks Spots Encompass What Busso is All About
Busselton is all about the chill beach vibes and these places all live up to that standard. No dress code and thongs (jandals or flip flops depending on your nationality) are always allowed.
You can walk in to all of these places without booking to grab a drink and some food. It really is a chill place to be.
Even if you aren’t here in summer, you’ll think that you are once you walk into any of these restaurants. With perhaps the exception of the beach, which isn’t fun if it’s raining, but still worth it when it’s not, even if it’s freezing!
So enjoy, sit back and grab a drink. You’ve earned it!
